Game Patching Issues

I play the game World of Warcraft and for the most part it works really well
on vista, the only probel i have run into is downloading patches, they just
dont download. to get a new patch i have to go only my brothers computer and
copy the patch onto a flash drive and then move it over onto my computer, its
very troublesome when getting the new patch takes half an hour to get on my
computer when it should only take a few minuets to download directly to my
lap top. is there any updates that will solve this problem? if so, please
reply to this.

Bryan,
Do you get an error message? can you detail exactly the steps you follow and
what it says?

I don't know a lot about WOW or its download process. It could be that the
firewall has disabled the update program. Assuming you are using Windows
Firewall you could check that. Go to Control Panel, select Windows Firewall.
Assuming it is ON, click on "change settings, then click on the "Exceptions"
tab. Look for something that might be the Blizzard WOW update program and
make sure it has a check-box (which enables that program to talk out on the
internet). I don't know how they named it or if it has its own entry, but
its a possibility. You can enable a bunch of things and see if it helps,
then disable them again.

Hope that helps!

Right click on the WoW downloader application in your World of Warcraft
Program Files folder and choose Run as Administrator...

If the program runs, but your little light on the patcher stays Red or
Yellow then chances are your router isn't setup with uPnP or port
forwarding.

Why download the patch twice, just copy it from your bothers computer.
Probably faster that way.
