Gain access to share without logging off

Say I do not have permissions to access \\serverX\shareY\folderZ and try to
navigate there. Windows will refuse me access.
Now on serverX, my account is given permission to access folderZ. If I
attempt to access folderZ again, I am still refused access. I have to log off
and back on again before I access it.

Is there a way to force Windows to re-check and refresh these permissions
without having to log off?
 
Clarification: The access to the share is granted by adding the user to an AD
security group which has access to that folder.
