Gadget Side Bar

The Gadget Side Bar keeps disappearing and I have to do it again. I do not
have the autohide for it. Anyone know what's going on with this. I only
have the Weather and the Clock on my desktop.
 
is it really disappearing or just not on top.
there is an option setting to keep it on top.
or look in the tray and click on its icon to bring it to the front.
