It would be great if we could see that there is, somewhere in a parent's
folder subfolders, a shared folder.
ie: If all the parents folders icon, leading to a shared folder would
show some kind of a small blue dot or blue tab, this would aware the user
that there is a shared folder present in the tree. This would prevent
forgetting a shared folder somewhere in the tree.

I know those methods but it would be easier to view immadiately and faster
(for most common user), if parent's folder's icon had somekind of a visible
flag. There could be an on/off swith in a GPO to enable or desable this
function.

Hey guys, make it fast viewable and simple!

Thank's

You can view all of the shares on your computer by Right-Clicking on My
Computer. Choose Manage from the menu. Expand System Tools, Shared
Folders, Shares.

You can also obtain this list by starting a Command Prompt (Start / [All]
Programs / Accessories / Command Prompt, or Start / Run / CMD.EXE, OK.)

At the Command Prompt, type NET SHARE, press enter.

Are you willing to make all your folders show up a fraction of a second
slower because Windows is checking if any of its subfolders is shared?
Remember that it's not a simple check like "C:\ is a parent of
C:\some\subfolder\that\is\shared". With mount points, it's possible that C:\
is a parent of D:\. And a blue dot is not exactly obvious - imagine the
thousands of people who will wonder, "What does that blue dot mean?" And of
course other people might want a green dot if the folder is a *subfolder* of
a shared folder. (Which to me actually sounds more useful since it means
that the contents of the folder are shared. Whereas knowing that your
folder contains a shared folder is less interesting, at least to me.) Or
some people might want a red dot if the folder contains any compressed
files. Or a purple dot if the folder contains files that have been modified
since the last backup. Pretty soon every folder will have twenty little
dots on it.

I don't mean to pick on your specifically. I'm just pointing out that
everybody has their own favorite "simple feature" - but one person's simple
feature is another person's unwanted or confusing feature. And if you add
too many decorations to icons, pretty soon the icons will be drowning in
decorations, most of which people don't understand. (Raise your hand if you
understand the blue swirling arrows decoration or the black stopwatch
decoration.)
