Hi

I usually have a shortcut icon on the desktop. It would be a very
important icon for my daily work. Its name would be also quite long.
Then I find I cannot see the full name of this shortcut icon, unless I
click it.
How to have the full name of this shortcut icon, even I didn't
click it?

Not a lot you can do. Tapping ESC beforehand will make the next icon
show its full title when you hover, but it only works the once.
I would put the desktop on the Taskbar as a Toolbar - then all the
names show up completely.
Unlock the Taskbar if locked, then right click in an empty area,
choose Toolbars; Desktop. Now collapse the desktop as far as possible
unilt only the name and ">>" show. Click the >> and it'll all show.

Why does it matter? I would just shorten the name. If you use it
daily, you shouldn't have any trouble remembering what it is.

Thank you very much, Twayne. It helps.

I might have two or three important icons for daily usage, so it would
be helpful for longer name.
I find I can also have the full name of the icon without clicking it
by simply placing the mouse on the icon.
Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

OK, but are you aware that you can rename these shortcuts as you wish?
Personally I would give them all shorter names, with whatever is
required to differentiate among them.

But it's your computer and your choice, of course.

Good. If that meets your needs, then fine.

You're welcome. Glad to help.
