Full Name default in properties

In the new contact properties window the default "Full Name" option is
<first name - last name>. For recognizing family members and alphabetical
listings <last name, first name m.i.> works best.
Question: Is there a way, probably in the registry, to set the default "Full
Name" to <last name, first name m.i.>?

So, I'm not sure what the problem is here.
I've been advised from many quarters not to use my actual email address, so
as not to harvest lots of spam.
