Newbie to Radeon (nvidia convert). I noticed the ATI site has the complete
CAT 9 full meal deal or smaller individual driver / utility files. I don't
think I'll use the hydro-whatever dual display or other listed utilities.
Does the large file allow selective install for these apps? Do you just snag
the current driver and control panel? I dislike bloat-ware that you try for
five minutes before you hit the uninstaller.

CAT 9 looks pretty new, is this the preferred version or 7-8 a better
choice? (XP pro).

My new card is in the mail :)

yes it does allow for selective install of the utilities
all you would need are the drivers and the control panel

Cool, thanks Matt. What is the "preferred" CatX revision driver?

personally i use omega 3.7's
they are the best for gaming in my expierience

............while I noticed better gaming with cat 9's.... it's all far
too subjective. This "preferred cat version" stuff is nonsense.

Thanks Bob, I used the "preferred" thing 'cause in Nvidia world drivers are
very strange. A legacy release may be far better then current. Bye - bye
detonator! In fact on the Nvidia NG half the posts are driver concerns and
benchmarks. I'm putting up a new machine with a 9600 pro and want to nail it
the first time as never used a Radeon card. C9 it is.
