FTP within Internet Explorer running WindowsXP SP2

No matter what I try I can't FTP in Internet Explorer from the address bar.
Syntax: ftp://ftp.folderaddress/

Hmm, can you supply more details? Is the server on the same network or
are you going through a firewall? What is the error message?
