Hi,
I tried to use a windows 2000 based computer as ftp
server. now I can see it remotely and the files on it. I
am able to download the current files at the site, but I
am unable to upload anything. It gives me access denied
message. does anyone know How can I fix it?

The user needs to have the "Log on Locally" right to upload using FTP.

Hope this helps

Hi Ray,

If you have installed IIS on the Windows 2000 machine you
need to launch iis.msc fromssytem32\inetsrv directory,
expand the Computer name, highlight FTP sites, choose
properties for Default FTP site and then go in under Home
Directory. Enable Write access, apply settings and you
are ready to go.

Oli,
Thanks for your reply. How can I give the users the
rights to log on locally? If you meant make them a user
on the ftp server, I already did that and it didn't help.
any other suggestion?
Thanks again.
Ray
