FTP problems (hopefully) solved

I've recently been having problems with FTP uploads on our website. The
transfer would begin, get about a third of the way through and then the
transfer speed would plummet to ridiculously low values like a few
bytes/second.

I just ran across a suggestion:

I did that and now uploads are taking place normally.

That is a request you will have to make to your downloaders. Doesn't look
like something you can set at the server? You are the FTP server not the
FTP client.
