Frustrating Problem

Hi,
I have been using Outlook 2002 for some time now, but recently developed a
confusing and frustrating problem.
It is:

When I open Outlook from the start menu, it freezes for a very long time.
Then, it downloads a few emails and stops at about 86%, at which time it
freezes again.

I opened Task Manager to stop the program and noticed that two
applications of Outlook are running, and one process of Outlook and one
process of Word. I use word as my email editor, so I am guessing that is OK.
But the two apps of Outlook should not occur. I have uninstalled Outlook and
reinstalled it with the same results.

Any and all input/help/assistance will be GREATLY appreciated.

No, I am not. Also, I have a Laptop with no problems whatsoever, all works
fine.
