Frozen screensaver

Does anybody know why windows2000 prof locks up when the
screensaver runs? It just freezes and I have to reboot.
The "on resume, password protect" box is NOT checked.
Any suggestions?

A couple possibles. Corrupted screensaver or bad/incorrect video drivers.
