ctrl-alt-del problem

I have a computer that goes into screensaver mode with
password protected engaged but every time she does the
control-alt-del and puts in her password the screen just
shows her wallpaper and everything else seems to be
frozen. No icons come up the windows button on the
keyboard doesn't work the mouse moves around but that's it
so I hit control alt delete again to check task manager
and the machine begins to shutdown. I have SP3 installed
any idea on how to make it just go from the screensaver to
the desktop without re-imaging the machine?

With Task Manager open, go to File- New Task, browse to

system32 and click on CMD.EXE. With the DOS prompt at
the \winnt\system32. Rename SHLWAPI.DLL to SHLWAPI.OLD
and reboot. I had the same problem with 7 P.C's after an
update. This article with help with other dll's is that
is not the culprit. Good Luck.
