Sometimes my screen frezzes for no reason (Cursor and
keys do not move or work). What could be the problem? My
firewall and antivisus software is well updated. To fix I
have to do a hard re-boot.

Be sure that all PC fans are operating, and that the case has sufficient
room to breathe.

Consider testing a new video driver, from the chip or card manufacturer's
WEBsite. If results are poor ROLL BACK to the prior drivers. If you are
unfamiliar with this process, it's best left to someone who is.

You might want to verify that your anti-virus software is
really updating. A version of the BugBear virus that got
out this summer would cause this behavior and would
prevent your anti-virus software from completing
updates. You can download a utility to check for the
virus from Symantec. I had to remove this virus from one
of my computers. In addition to the computer locking up,
I would hear the floppy drive making noises for no
apparent reason. Hope this helps.
