Frontpage XP + Terminal Services + Cytrix

M

Martín Coco

Hi everybody, I'm quite new around here...

I was wondering if anyone could help with the following problem:

Actually, I haven't seen/verified the problem *myself*... It has been
reported to me by some other people, but well, here it goes:

I am currently running a Windows Advanced Server with Terminal Services and
Cytrix XP installed on it. I connect to the W2K with an ICA Client. Most of
the client PCs are very old (P166 with 32/64 MB RAM), and they are running
Windows NT 4.0 SP6. The W2K Advanced Server has the SP3 installed.

On the W2K, there's a version of Microsoft Office XP (including Frontpage
XP). The problem reported to me is that every once in a while, when running
Frontpage XP from a Client, it suddenly quits to the server desktop (ie. ICA
connection desktop, not the local OS).

This sounds *really* strange to me, as they haven't told me of any error
message or the like at all: it just quits without previous notice (they also
told me that this specially ocurred when trying to save the document).

I have tried several times to open files, edit them, and save them, and the
problem never appeared.

So the question is: has this happened to any of you before? Do you think
there is a possible and reasonable cause of this problem happening? I really
don't know what the cause could be, as I already had searched in
groups.google for problems similar to this one, but ended up with no
results.

Maybe installing the latest Service Pack of the Office suite, but I don't
think that should solve this problem. I also thought about the session being
closed after a period of inactivity, but that should show the user the local
desktop, not to the server destkop.

Any answer will be greatly aprecciated.

Thanks,
Martín Coco.
