FrontPage web protection

You have to open the website live...http:// for the Server item to be active.

And your host must allow you to create subwebs and then set unique permissions.

If yes, then you would move your content that you want to protect into a folder, then right click on
the folder and then select Convert to Web, then after you have publish to the remote server, open
the subweb in FP, then you will be able to set permissions.

Will one need to open that subweb at the SERVER? Or, will it be possible to
do this with the subweb open locally?
 
Must do it at the server, as permissions are not published.

Being somewhat of a novice at this, I do not understand what you mean by "open the website live...http://"...??

File Menu | Open Site / Web and enter the URL to your site on your host/ISP as
http://www.domainname.com
