Frontpage saving issue

Below is what's happening

I navigate to a page in IE 6 and click File at the top and than click
on Edit with Microsoft Frontpage. I then make some changes and than
save the file. The page duplicates itself...It adds code to the top
with broken images and links, duplicated code in the middle is
correct, then more duplicate code at the bottom that has incorrect
links and images. Is there any known bugs with this? As when i
reopen the actual page and save it everything is fine. This only
happens when trying to edit the page through the browser.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You shouldn't be editing your pages this way. You should be opening the web
in FrontPage (File, Open Site) and then editing the pages and saving them

Is there a reason for this?
This is for a client of ours and i haven't used or cared to use
frontpage before.
They say they have edited these pages like this before without any
problems.

Unless you have FP and open in the site in FP you are potentially corrupting the FP Design time tools
