FrontPage no longer prompts for remote web site password. Why?

FrontPage no longer prompts for an ID and password when I click "Remote Web
Site". When I then try to log in using "Remote Web Site Properties" (with
FrontPage or SharePoint Services checked), I get an error message that
FrontPage can't open the web site. Any idea why FrontPage has stopped
prompting for an ID and password before trying to log in to the web site?
