Frontpage Forms

Hi,

I am an A-level ICT student, and I am just creating a
website as part of my ICT coursework project. I have
created the website in Frontpage 2000 and uploaded it.
Everything works OK, apart from the form. The form sends
the data to an Access database which is stored on the web
server too (I followed an example in a frontpage book of
how to set the form up!). I renamed the form page with
a .asp extension (as instructed by Frontpage and in the
book I'm using). When I tested my website at
www.theoj.co.uk it just gave me one long error message on
the form page and didn't display the form at all! I tried
uploading the form page again with a .htm extension, and
the form was displayed. However, when I clicked submit,
it would not work. According to Frontpage help, I need to
use a .asp extension. Why is this not working - I have
frontage extensions installed?

In case it is useful to see the error message that is
displayed in place of the form, you can find it at
www.theoj.co.uk/booking_form.asp.

I would be very grateful if you could help me solve this
problem!

Many thanks,

Theo Jones

Your server, www.theoj.co.uk, is running the Apache Web server on some form
of Unix. Therefore, it won't run ASP pages.

You are using an Apache server running on Unix, which does not support ASP
or Access databases.
To use Access you must be hosted on IIS.
Check with your host which database and server-side scripting languages are
supported.
