Frontpage Drop Down default record

Hello all,

I am having a problem I hope someone out there will be able to
resolve.
I have a series of drop down list fields on my page that populates a
Database Results table at the bottom of the same page.(ASP page)

The problem I have is that after making the selection in the drop down
list and submitting my query, when the query loads the page again with
the results it changes the default value in each of my drop down lists
to either the value that is "Selected" by default or the value that is
at the top of the list.

I want the value just selected from the drop down to remain as the
default .
Is there any easy way to do this ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
