FrontPage can't find a folder it needs

I just got an error when publishing my web: :The folder that would hold URL
'/users/otherlleft/_overlay/100433.html_nav_network010_vbtn.gif' does
not exist on the server."
I have confirmed that all the folders that I have in my web exist on the
server. I have confirmed that the file 100433.html_nav_network010_vbtn.gif
is nowhere on my C: drive. And I thought that FrontPage would create the
folder if it needed it. FYI, I've been publishing to this web for about a
month without difficulty. Any thoughts?

In both your local and online webs in FP run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

Ah, when I ran that in my local it told me that the file in question "does
not refer to a page or folder in this web," and that it may be a page or
folder in a subweb (which I don't have) or a badly formed url. The
recalculation failed. I ran a search again looking for that text string in
the the files of the web, but like the search for the file itself, it came up
with nothing. Seems to be on the right track, though . . .

Try deleting your FP Temp & web cache files before you open FP
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

Or use the FP Cleaner from http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm

I'm having a similar problem. I deleted by FP Temp files, but I'm not able
to find any .web files. Will those be on my local machine or my web server?

I cleared out all those files and it still won't let me recalculate the
hyperlinks. I finally got in touch with my host and they think the FrontPage
Extensions are corrupted and must be rebuilt, but they pretty much always
think that. Are they on target?
