Frontpage 2003 themes not animated

I have setup a site using the Zero theme in FP 2003. From what I can
tell from other posts, and from looking at the image directly in some
of the folders it places them, some of the images look like they should
be animated. At one point, I do recall seeing it animated during a
preview somewhere. However, when I save the site to the server it is
on, I don't see any animation.

I have tried changing the theme, saving, changing back. I saw some
posts recommend a RECALCULATE HYPERLINKS which I have done with no
change.

I know the banner is supposed to be animated, if there is any other
animation on there it is also not being displayed. If I insert an
animated.gif image into the page, it does display correctly.

And from what I can tell, I have all animations turned on everywhere
that it should be on. I've never turned them off, but they all appear
to be on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Animated? ... don't think so.

The banner background does have a .GIF which is animated coming
straight out of the compressed themes file. It's supposed to scroll
the 1's and 0's across the screen for that image.

I didn't think it was animated either, till I started seeing other
posts about that particular issue...

Unless you mean "active" as in rollover buttons - that's the extent of
"animation" (if you can call it that) in the themes in Frontpage.

I'm talking about the animated .gif's that are supposed to be the
banner background. For instance, with the Zero theme defaults applied,
the web now has the following folder and file, which show the animated
file:

_themes/zero/zerbana.gif

But for some reason, when it overlays the messages it seems to save the
bannerfile for that page elsewhere under _derived on the web server
without the animation...

I thought the ACTIVE GRAPHICS option upon theme selection, if enabled,
would enable the mouse rollover graphics, as well as the banner
animations. I know there's an automobile theme that has animated
spedometers, but from the post I read, it wasn't uploading to the
server as animated, he would have to do it manually each time, but lost
the overlays...

I don't seem to have that theme in 03 so I can't take a look at it.

If you overlay text on the banner it becomes a flat file.
To accomplish what you want you would need to modify the animated gif
in a program that can handle animated GIFs and add the text to each
individual frame of the GIF.
Make sure the text is placed exactly the same on each frame or it will
look blurred.

You must select a theme that has Active Content.

From what I can tell about that particular theme (ZERO) it looks like
the hyperlink mousovers for general hyperlinks on the page should
highlight the entire word. Is this supposed to be happening? I see
regular underlined links without that particular mouseover effect.
