just fine.

All of the images are in .jpg format. I can place the images just fine, they
just don't show in design mode, however when I publish the site and view the
remote the images are there just as planned.

Ok, is the subformat of the JPG images, RGB?

All of the images are RGB.. Just out of curiosity I created a new user
account and logged into it. I opened a few of the many sites that I am
working on in FP2003 and all of the images displayed fine. Logged off that
user and tried again under my user account and they no longer display. It is
something very specific to my user account. Win XP Pro, BTW

Did you install FP under an account that has Admin permissions?

Both user accounts are Administrators. One works, one is FUBAR. LOL. I
just created another Admin account and logged into it. FP2003 works great on
that one as well. I am totally convinced that something under my main user
account is totally gone wrong. The funny thing is that the rest of the
Office suite on this account works with the images just fine. It is only
FP2003 that has forgotten how to display images.

Have you tried re-installing under this account?

I have tried the uninstall, reboot, and reinstall routine to no avail. I did
just take a couple of screen captures if seeing is believing. I can place
them on the web for you to see if you think that it may help to spark the
creative juices, I know that mine have been drained. I have tried everything
that I can think to try.

No, I take your word for it. At least you now have a workaround which should be ok, as long as you
can also access your other applications.

My creative juices ran out about 5 days ago.

I do appreciate your trying to assist. I am at my wits end, and that has
never happened to me in the 20 years that I have been an MCP. I can usually
solve just about any problem with a little time and effort. Even Google
could not get me out of this one, LOL.

The only thing I can think of, is that the required filter is installed, but not available under
this account. Did you install FP prior to the other or after the other Office apps?

In an effort to stop something from coming into your computer from
other sources, you turned off some function under that user name that
in turn stopped the photos from showing. You have to remember back
and see what you changed at the time it quit working. JMHO

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
(the lack of images may require a repair of IE #3)
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
