FrontPage 2003 Cant Connect to Windows SharePoint Services v.2 Site

I'm trying to author a web site in WSS v.2 on Windows Server 2003. I
have direct admin access to the server computer and I have configured
all the appropriate settings but I can't connect using FrontPage 2003.
IIS Authentication Settings are fine, and the entire site is up and
running, and I can connect to the site using any browser (opera even)
but I can't connect using FrontPage. wecerr.txt logs a message when I
try to connect: Server error: There is no Web named "". FrontPage just
returns a generic error message. I can open an individual page on the
site, but FrontPage cant pull any metadata information from it or save
the file to it. Which is weird.

Please help

What a handy little tool! I'll be sure to keep it somewhere safe.

But it didn't do anything, frontpage still can't connect. I receive the
same error message. I had just installed FrontPage and this site is the
first time I'm actually using FrontPage, so I guess the problem has
nothing to do with left over files or hidden caches.
but thank you for the link to that tool.

in case it might help, I'm running frontpage from windows server 2003
and using http://localhost as my address for accessing the WSS site.

um...Windows SharePoint Services, unline STS stores all documents and
lists in SQL Server, so there are no files in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot. And
my site is at the root of the server.

Using the computer name in the address makes no difference.

Since you are using WSS, suggest you try the WSS newsgroup at
