FrontPage 2002 Search Component Not Working

Did you create a separate htm page then put the search on that page?
It doesn't look like its going to the right page.
Does your server use Front Page Extensions. The search is part of FP Ext.
If they don't then you cant us that item (and many others). If so, you need
to go to your option page and tell FrontPage that you are not using
Extension. This will grey out many of your buttons (features) so that you
don't accidentally use them.

If your server uses Extensions, someone else will have to help you.

Also, it appears that your Fade or Blend (that your using when going to
another page) is set very slow.
It seems that I have to wait 2 or 3 seconds for the page to appear. You may
want to set the "Page Transition" to 1-second. This has nothing to do with
your problem but I don't want you to loose customers because your pages load
slow. Even if your trying to create a cool effect.

The server hosting the site must have the FP extensions and the site must be published to the server
via FP's http:// mode.

The extensions are installed. What do you mean when you say "FP's http://
mode"? I am live on the server and click Save to publish. The component still
doesn't work even if I use the publish button. Is that what you mean?

I used the template in FrontPage to create the search page. The server does
use extensions.

Ok, you are working directly on the site at http://www.domainname.com in FP, when you created the
search form, correct?

When you click save, it just saves, there is no publishing involved.

When you publish in FP's http mode you are doing the following:

File Menu
Publish Web / Site
Entering the destination as:
http://www.domainname.com
and then your login info.

Has Index Service been allowed in the server configuration?
Has a Index Service catalogue been created for the web?

I'm checking with our administrator and will get back to the group. Thanks.
