Greetings

I finally cleared the dust off my FrontPage 2000 software and have recently published my first Web. I've applied the same template to each page and now I want to make changes to the template. Can I apply changes made in the template to all pages with FP 2000 or do I need to purchase FP 2003 to make this automatic update possible

If so, how would people apply automatice updates to all the pages throughout a Web site before 2003

Thank you

Jay DeWitt

Templates in versions prior to FP2003, are when you first create the page,
and provide no means of updating pages based on a template. Many folks use
theme as solution or CSS to control page layout. In FP2003 you have the new
option of using Dynamic Web Templates, however the dynamic update only works
if working with disk-based webs or under Windows 2003 Server with
SharePoint.

If I purchase FP2003, will I be able to make changes to all the Web pages using a particular template with the "update" feature (rather than updating them all individually). Then, after they are changed, republish them to the Web server.

Will this work? I don't need the template to automatically update on the already published site.

Any help would be appreciated...I will be purchasing FP2003 tomorrow.

Thanks much!

Yes, as long as you are working with a disk-based web (c:\..). The best
approach IMO is to recreate your site using a Dynamic Web Template instead
of trying to add the DWT to existing formatted pages.
