FrontPage 2000 keeps trying to install

Darrell

I'm using FrontPage 2000 with Windows XP & the program
itself works fine. Lately, though, a box pops up every
few minutes saying FrontPage is going to install. What
it's trying to install is FrontPage 2000 Premium. If I
allow it to continue, it reached a point where it says I
need a CD to install the program. But I don't have a FP
2000 Premium CD & don't want to install that anyway.

I've completely uninstalled FrontPage, but there remains
a "microsoft frontpage" folder under "Program Files" that
can't be deleted because it's "in use" (even when I've
closed everything except Windows Explorer. I even
restarted in Safe Mode & did masnage to delete the
folder, but it reappeared when I started up in normal
mode.

The pop-up box trying to install FrontPage 2000 Premium
is very disruptive. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of
it?

The FP folder that you can't delete was created by the installation of Windows, not FP.

The only way you are going solve the install error, is by install FP2000 from the Office 2000
Premium CD, with everything set to run from My Computer. There should be no reason to not have the
CD, since you have the software installed.
