front usb ports not recognising device

Hi,
i have just put together a system using an asrock k7s8xe
motherboard,and win xp pro,
which works fine except that the front usb ports will not recognise
any usb device(camera/card reader etc)
the 4 ports at the rear work fine with the camera etc

the motherboard handbook lists the pin out for the front panel as:
1/ usb_pwr/p-5/p+5/gnd
2/ usb_pwr/p-4/p+4/gnd (arranged in two rows of four pins (plus one
pin marked"dummy" in the mobo handbook)
and the case handbook lists the pin out as:
red(vcc+) vregfpusbpwro/front panel usb power(ports 0.1)
red(vcc+) vregfpusbpwro/front panel usb power(ports 0.1)
green (-d) usb_fp_po_front panel usb port 0 negative signal
green (-d) usb_fp_p1_front panel usb port 1 negative signal
white (+d) usbfppo+front panel usb port 0 positive signal
white (+d) usbfpp1+front panel usb port 1 positive signal
black(ground)
black(ground

i have connected the wiring as:(1) red to usb_pwr
green to p-5
white to p+5
black to gnd

(2) red to usb_pwr
green to p-4
white to p+4
black to gnd
have i got this right ? or am i reading it wrongly,

any suggestions greatly appreciated,thanks

sorry if not reading it right, because it looks okay. have you got the 0 and
1 cables in the right place ? i.e.

red/p0-/p0+/gnd
red/p1-/p1+/gnd

also, some mobo's have a bios setting for number of usb ports, may need
changing to allow six ports

Hi, thanks for the suggestions,
i have it connected in the way you suggest,
the only reference i can find in the bios is "usb ports - enabled"

there is a jumper on the mobo with 3 pins labelled in the manual as
ps2_usb_pwr1

pins1&2 give +5v and pins 2&3 give +5sb"(to enable +5vsb(standby) for
ps/2 or usb wake up events",
i have tried this jumper in both positions but get the same reults
with both

problem solved! it was the wiring instructions that came with the
case that were incorrectly printed,

i exchanged the green and white wires and end of problem,

thanks anyway.
