I'm new to web building and MS Front Page and am having trouble getting Forms to work. I keep getting the error message that Front Page Server Extensions needs to be installed on the server when I fill out a from when I've been told that is has been installed. Is there a way I can check the Web server to see if it is in fact installed? Are there other reasons I'd be getting this message..

thanks in advance

david

First and foremost, try opening your online web in FP and running a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
File Open Web / Site and enter your URL as http://www.yoursitename.com/

If that fails browse to your home page in IE and try File Edit w/ FP
You can usually check what version of the FP are installed in IE by using
http://www.yoursitename.com/_vti_inf.html

But having theme installed and working are not the same
- have your host run a health check on the SE

Stefan,

thanks for the reply.. however when I try entering http://www.yoursitename.com/ I get a three Tier network logon box and regardless of the combination of username password I can't get logged on.. Perhaps you can clarify this for me..

thanks

Don't understand "3 tier"
- if you mean a log in dialog w/ 3 entries required (domain / user / password), you need to get the entries required from your host

Plus: Make sure the host has enabled the forms to email transport.

Stephfan,
thanks for the response.. and yes 3 tier means userid/password/domain. It's a colloquial term we use when remotely trouble shooting LAN logon issues; we ask our users if they have a 2 tier or 3 tier logon box..:) They understand this better than asking if they have a domain logon text box..:)

When you attempt to connect using this method.. do you get this logon box..
what do you enter for your domain name.. Why would I need anything other than the userid and password I use for FTP? Besides, I thought that logon box was for LAN logons and nothing more..

thanks again..
