Front Page 2003 photo gallery

I installed FP 2003 on my new computer but I am having difficulty with the
photo gallery. When I add the gallery and try to add the caption, everything
seems to work but when I go back and look the caption is no longer there. I
have tried everything I could think of but the caption will not hold. Also,
I select the Montage Layout but when I add the pictures it just neatly lines
them up in rows and all the same size. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

This is typical behaviour when using the FrontPage PhotoGallery.
Try using jAlbum instead (http://jalbum.net)

This is not typical behaviour when using the FrontPage photogallery. Far from
it.
Do you have IE7 beta installed? if so that stops the captions and
descriptions for being saved. Uninstall and reinstall IE6. If you have IE6
uninstall and reinstall. This is a known clash.

Your experience obviously varies from mine, and many others. I do not have
IE7 installed on my production PCs, since it's in Beta. I have not seen
this behaviour when testing with IE7, but get it often with IE6.

I am not sure my reply got sent as I was not logged in at the time, but yes
peoples experiences do vary. I work at a college and we haveclasses for FP
and have had hundreds and hundreds of students pass through learning FP and
then at home to work on their home puters, also help run forums online but
have rarely come across this problem. One student had it at home, but not at
college, the only difference being IE - she had IE7 .... she contacted
Microsoft direct and they acknowledged there was a bug and that versions IE6
+ can cause the gallery to not hold descriptions and captions. Unisntalling
IE and reinstalling would cure the problem, and it did.

Actually it is typical abbynormal behavior for the photogallery slide
show - it is quirky - unpredicitable feature.

I was having the same problem with the captions in FP2003, I also have IE 7
Beta 3. I did a repair on FP2003 and now it's working fine

I ended up uninstalling IE 7 and all worked fine.
