Front page 2000 - security

help,

can anybody tell me how I can access the security button in the tools menu.I
have tried everything I know, but it is always greyed out.......

I had the same question as Mike did. And, I didn't understand Tom's answer
(below).

I'm using FrontPage on a client machine tied to an NT Network. The site is
hosted by a third party. When I publish to the site, I give it my username
and pw that I have as the owner of that site by that service provider.

So, "where" do I "create and open a subweb"? Is that in FrontPage? In my
example above, which is the "remote server"? the host computer network for
my site? (If it is, we are not talking something in FrontPage.)

Tom, please forgive me for missing the obvious, but could you elaborate a
little more? Thanks.

You open the site directly in FP that is provided by your hosting service, then you create a folder,
then you select the folder, then right click, select convert to web. If this works, then your host
allows you to create subwebs.

Next double-click on the subweb folder (has a global on it), once the subweb is open in FP, then if
you host allows you to set unique permissions, you will see the security option under Tools.
