front end outlook/gmail

I have configured my gmail for outlook via POP. However, when I am on the
web and go to send a link or email from there, outlook frontend always
launches. Is there a way to set it so that only the gmail front end will
launch and can be used.
 
You mean when you click on an email link Outlook launches?
Outlook will be your default email client. I don't know of a way to set the
default client to a page in your browser.
