FromDSL To Modem

My friend got an HP (model unknown) with XP; previous
owner was Administrator; friend wants to install modem;
tries connect-wiz; option for modem is greyed-out; help,
anyone?

when you get a used computer then it is better to reinstall
the operating system for peak performance and no nastys
waiting for you to go online. and restore disc creator is
in start,compaq, tools,rcovery disc creator.

Go to the following registry and set the noted DWORD to 0 (that's a zero).
Make sure you know how to backup and restore the registry before proceeding.
