from xp-p to xp-home

profesional. I dodn;t have the xp-p software and want to
install xp home but won;t let

You can not do a downgrade without booting from the CD and deleting and
reformatting the harddrive.

If your system is still under warranty, you may void it by changing
the operating system. Check with Gateway before trying.

You do have the XP Pro software. It is in some type of Recovery system (CD
or Partition).

BTW: Why would anyone try to revert back to XP Home, when you have XP Pro.
Pro does everything that Home does and more!
