fresh install forever to copy files

its been over an hour and its only at 18%

fresh install windows xp pro sp2 cd
new hdd as old one failed and all i had was one with win2k
full ntfs format -- that went well
so any ideas
 
Dirty CD laser? It can take a long time, wait until tomorrow and see how
much further it's got.
