Frequent Consistency checks since converting to NTFS

I recently updated my hard drive to NTFS (from FAT32 using the Convert
utility) and since then most every time I do a regular re-boot Windows
indicates that my system wasn’t properly shut down and my drive needs to
be checked for consistency. Prior to the convert this almost never
happened unless there was a power failure or something that did result in
a non-controlled shut down.

During the consistency check errors are typically found and corrections
made. I loose files and have to re-install software often. Thinking the
conversion was merely a coincidence and my drive is failing, I downloaded
the Mfr’s diagnostic utility and ran the drive through their battery of
tests. Everything came back clean, there were no errors found.

Is there something I may have failed to do during the conversion? Or,
anyone have any help/ideas why this is occurring?

Thank you for any and all assistance.

I'm no expert, but exactly the same thing happened to me after converting to
NTFS. Eventually, my hard disk failed. After replacing the disk, I've had
no more problems.
