Open a blank (new) document in Word then click on: Tools > Language > Set language Is there a check mark in the box before? "Detect language automatically"? If so remove it. Then click on: Default > Yes > OK Save and close the document, giving it a throw-away name. Exit Word. If prompted to save normal.dot, click on "Yes".
