I installed my Office 2003 onto my new desktop. Whenever I first start
editing existing documents Word pops up and tells me

"The list of common French Autocorrections is not available. Would you like
to install it now?"

I never selected French as a language when I installed office. I don't speak
French. How do I get rid of this annoying message?

The easiest way might just be to surrender and let it install it.

Do you have "Detect language automatically" turned on? If so, try turning it
off.
