Freezing on charts

I have Win XP Professional and IE7. The only time my laptop freezes is when
I am monitoring stock charts or forex charts real time streaming. My Java is
up to date. On all other applications I do not get the problem. I have done
all the cleanups including virus, anti-spyware etc but it does not help.
How can I resolve the problem?

If you test your Broadband throughput (
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ )
what values does it return ? Does your Java setup allow for caching of the
Java applets ? Also what real time security apps ( AV/Firewall ) does the
computer have running ?

My second reply also did not appear. So I sought advise on a new post "No
replies seen" of 1/13, and got some good advise. Did some more cleanups and
diagnosis as best as I could. Now resending earlier reply hoping that it
makes thru this time. Would appreciate your reply.

I'm sorry I don't know what that means. I am not that good on computers. I
have the normal Java that all charting sites recommend.

Anti-virus is Avast.
Antispyware is mainly Ad-aware and a few others.
I run the above routines at least once a week. I don't have much of a virus
or spyware problem.
Firewall is the Windows firewall that I have not disturbed from the
beginning."
