Freezing Juddering Mice

Usually preceded by the mouse becoming more
and more sluggish, the mouse cursor will hang for up
to ten minutes, though I can sometimes still use the
wheel on the mouse to scroll pages the cursor will not
budge. Other times the cursor will jump
around the page, or judder off in one direction. Task
manager shows no other program using cpu aside from
system idle. Processes shows no other programs
operating. Have run virus scans and come up negative.
Have run scandisk and no change in mouse behaviour. Am
using a tower PC running Win XP using a wireless mouse
and keyboard. This is recent behaviour, perhaps since the
last windows update..At least 3 of my friends are
expiriencing the same problems with their mice and
xp.....This bug makes using Windows, and trying to work
very frustrating...... Please help.....Thanks...

Sounds like the mouse has "died". Have you replaced it

Sorry, but the mouse is relatively new,have re-installed
it several times it works fine for the first hour after
booting up and then the problems start...Could it be
something to do....Noticed two other people in this news
group with what sounds like the same problem.
