I would like to freeze the first column and the header line. How do I do this. I can freeze either one but not at the same time. Does anyone have any ideas, or is this impossible.

Hi
- move the cursor to cell B2
- goto 'Windows - Freeze Panes'

It will freeze all rows above the current cursor position and all
columns left to this position

Hi,

Assuming that the column you want to freeze is "A" and the row is "1
then go to cell "B2" and do Windows->Freeze Panes....or am I missin
what you're trying to do?

Cheers,

Jo

Frank I have tried that, but can only freeze one item at a time.
If I want first column I can do that, but if I want header and first column, wont work.

It is because I am trying to freeze a header...........???

Hi
where did you place the cursor?
Windows - Freeze will freeze all rows above this cursor and all columns
left to this cursor position. So if you place the cursor in B2 this
will freeze row 1 and column A. Just try it

I have tried it
I do know that I need to be to the right of the column and under the header too. But cant seem to make both of them stay at the same time. Like I said I can do one but not both together

thanks

Hi
this is strange. what happens exavtly if you apply 'Freeze Panes' this
way. What do you mean with 'dont stay at the same time'.
You may send me your file and I'll have a look at it

You can select both the column and the header at the same
time by holding the CTRL key and clicking.

Click on the first, hold CTRL, then click again.

I have also tried the B2 and Freeze Pane and it works fine. The firs
Row or Header is Frozen and the First Column

Actually the using the B2 pane freeze holds the header when scrolling u
and down but not when scrolling left and right. same with the column
but scolling the opposite way
