Freeware Wav Editor that does FFT

Maatt

Hi,

Anyone know of a good wav editor that can show me graphically the FFT
of any random wave file.

In an ideal world I would like the graphics to be customisable, and the
program to work via command line, but I'm not too picky.
Regards and thanks in advance

Audacity can do that:

Check the audacity docs, maybe there's something possible from the
command line.

In any case, here are some other links... haven't tried any of them,
but they sound like they might do the job for you:

|WAVE: a collection of Unix tools for "digital signal processing and
auditory modelling". If you need a DOS/Windows version, you might
try to compile it under CygWin.

Daqarta for DOS:

Another way would be to use some scientific software package (like
Octave, SciLab, ...) and program it yourself. This way, you've got
full control over the graphic, you make it as "command-line" as it
needs to be, etcetera.
