freeware to monitor and log software installation changes to system?

I've a big project that will have me testing dozens of applications for
review and I need something that can be running while I install all this
stuff so I can later make sure I get all traces each app off my machine
before installing and testing the next one... hope someone has some ideas
.... just got through re-installing win2k cuz one of these apps -I suspect
anyway- fried my system as it was uninstalling itself....

There are several utilities around that are designed to properly remove all
traces of an installation.
My personal choice is Total Uninstall which has never let me down, but there
are others.

I recommend Total Uninstall, too, and here's a link...

Yup, Total Uninstall, select the one that sez 'install several apps'. Good
Luck.
