freeware to convert .mov files to .avi or mpeg?

Does anyone know of a free program to convert .mov files to .avi or mpeg
files? Either a stand-alone app or plug-in for Virtual Dub is fine.

Take a look at "GermaniX Encoder" ("bPlayer2"). It can do "your
work" and some other converts too. It´s a freeware.

I don´t know the URL know, but with www.google.com you´ll find
it soon.

I found it here:

but unless I'm missing something, it looks like it's only an audio
format converter. Maybe it subtracts audio tracks from .mov files and
then converts that?
