Try accessing the MS Update page:

with Mozilla. Sure, you can download the updates from this site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en

but there's no way of telling which ones you need. Not only that, but
you have to really dig around simply to find them.

On the other hand, if you're running Linux:

It's more to do with the machine I'm using than the browser I would
guess. I don't have the same problem using another machine. No problem
really.
