Free x64 available for Upgrade to Ultimate?

Justin

Does anyone know if those of us that got a free upgrade from XP Pro to XP
Pro x64 will be eligible for upgrade to Vista Ultimate?

The CD specifically says:
Windows XP Pro x64 Ed Tech Advancement

If so, how will the upgrade work? I know a full install is required but
what will the install do? Ask for a CD? Ask for an old key?

Thanks for any input!

You are eligible for an upgrade to a corresponding or better version of
Windows Vista, but you will need to do a clean install. If it works like
the other upgrade versions of Vista you will need to start the install from
with your XP x64 install.

The Upgrade Edition setup has to run from the XP Pro x64 desktop. It will
install Vista into the same partition. There is no request for shiny media
or the legacy key.

Well that blows. So every time I need to refresh my install I have to first
install x64 then install Vista?

Upgrade Edition of Vista? They will not be available until Vista Launch.
Then you can buy one at all the usual places.
