Free Space Issue

i have a drive with 74.5GB capacity.

It is reporting that i have 74.2GB Used space, but when i
total up all files on the hard drive it only totals 67.7GB.

This has happened after i moved some files out of this
drive and defrag'ed it- i stopped the defrag in process
and i have heard this might screw things up.

any solutions without totally formating my drive??
Thanks

Click: Start
Click: Run
Type: cmd
Click: OK

At C:\> type: chkdsk ?: /f /v /r /x (Of Course, you will replace the ?
with the actual drive letter that you want fixed)

On the keyboard, press: Enter (If things go well, you should have a better
report about your hard-drive - And you'd be done)

If Windows reports that it cannot lock the drive and offers you the choice
to do it at the next startup, press Y for YES.

Still at C:\> type: shutdown -s -t 00

On the keyboard, press: Enter

When the computer is done turning off, turn the computer back on.

Let the disk checker do its magic.

(If things go well, you should have a better report about your hard-drive -
And you'd be done).
