I bought v3 originally, but now use VirusScan v6.02 on Windows 98. Could
somebody summarize what benefits (if any) are there to getting v8 instead?
Any down-side? What exactly does it mean when they say, "perpetual
products"?
The alternatives from McAfee are AntiSpyWare and QuickClean. I have
AdAware, so AntiSpyWare seems redundant. And QuickClean seems kind of
limited in functionality compared with the other two. That's why I asked
about VirusScan v8.
Perpetual means that when 12 mths comes up the updates /dats stop but the
program still works. subscription means both updates and dats as well as the
program itself stop.
this assume no renewal of dats or subscription.
