Hi,

Looking for a freeware or cheap shareware Jukebox program please. Any
recommendations?

It's going to be used by my geriatric 70+ years old father, and needs
to be very easy to understand, use, and add files to please. ;-)

I know about Winamp / MediaPlayer etc., but am looking for something
simpler, perhaps even aimed at partially sighted people etc.

TIA

You might try 1by1. I use it exclusively. It also employs same in_****
plug-in codecs used by Winamp. The difference is, 1by1 does not need
to make a playlist file. It will play all the songs in the same folder
without such a playlist. And, it is only a small fraction the size of
Winamp. Personally, I do not have any interest in WMPlayer's or
Winamp's gaudy visual FX, since I don't just sit there glaring at the
screen while listening to music. Believe it or not, that stuff takes up
computer resources, however slight.

I knew nothing about this one -- what a wonderful recommendation.
(Like you, it suits my listening needs perfectly: personally, I find
playlists a hindrance rather than a feature.)

I can't see a simple way to make it the default program for file types
-- .mp3/.wav etc. -- but I'll explore a bit more before I start doing
an extension-by-extension association.

Many thanks; good program.

An older version of MusicMatch Jukebox should fill the bill

Appreciated. Will give it a look.

Thanks.
