Free Firewalls

I cannot seem to download Zone Alarms free firewall or
any other type of free firewall. I did have Zone Alarm
and was advised of a new version but always got "page
unavailable etc"...I un-installed Zone Aalrm thinking I
could just go and get another one but now I can't get
anything! Have I got a bug that stops me from
downloading firewalls?

Check that you have these settings in Internet Options..
Internet Options\Security\Internet\Customized level\Downloads\
File downloads\enable... this could also be preventing you from
downloading any other file or program from the internet...
If you do have this settings and can access the download page but
cannot download the firewall, then you probably do have a bug that is
interfering with security related downloads.. try to download spyware
scanners... and try different sites, one of them must work.. if you manage
to download any scanner, update it before attempting to clean your system.

If you definetly cannot download any spyware scanner, download a few
of them from another computer and burn them on a CD, then install them..

In Spybot Mode menu, select Advanced Mode, click on Immunize
and check on Enable Permanent Blockage of Malignant Internet addresses
then go to Tools\Resident and check both squares to block spyware
and protect your computer.
